Many Americans think of February 2 as just any other day but David Johnson is not one of them. Every year he insist that we watch the movie Ground Hog Day. Since we have visitors today this ritual will be delayed until tomorrow night, after they have gone home. Whether or not Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow is not as important to me as it was when I lived in Kentucky but this German superstition is just as much fun for our family as the Christmas Pickle.
A note of interest for you northern friends and family...he didn't see his shadow this year so an early spring is expected
